This exciting new concept restaurant features freshly prepared Asian dishes with the bold and delicious flavors of Chinese, Japanese, Thai and Vietnamese food. This project presented several unique and interesting elements. Some examples are a radius bar with a complemetary soffit suspended overhead, "wok columns" with continuous 1/4" reveals... ...several curved walls with booths and tables to fit... ...and a set of seventeen foot long chopsticks holding a JUMBO shrimp! Stir Crazy's expansive dining room is equipped with custom booths and tables from DBC to provide flexible seating accomodations. The decorative medallions atop the booth wall are another feature unique to Stir Crazy that was provided by DBC. The large wall at the cookline is fitted with booth seats that match the radius of the wall. The opening is flanked by two "wok columns." No detail is overlooked at DBC. Here one of our craftsmen makes some finishing touches to a wok column. Stir Crazy also offers their menu items for carryout. The pickup point at the "Wok Out" features a granite purse shelf for the customer's convenience. One of the most impressive features of the interior accouterments in Stir Crazy is the massive overhead soffit above the bar. This is truly an outstanding example of craftsmanship and technology combined to achieve beauty and functionality. This element was constructed by fabricating a series of trusses to form the profile of the soffit and then laid out to conform to the shape of the bar below. The trusses were then overlaid with solid wood. This picture taken during the construction phase shows the soffit sitting on a mock up of the bar. Besides aesthetic considerations such as finish and installation of uplighting, the soffit must be built especially sturdy. Not only does it have to support its own weight, which is considerable, it also houses two large plasma TV's, cabinetry, and metal racks which hold literally hundreds of bottles of wine and liquor. The bar soffit is entirely suspended from the ceiling. Considering the load that it was designed to support and the fact that the bar soffit must align with the bar anchored to the floor, placement of support structures is critical. This requires close coordination between the design team at DBC and the contractors in the field. The finished product stands as a testament to our commitment to excellence at Diversified Building Concepts. With a passion for preparing the freshest and most delicious Asian food, Stir Crazy Fresh Asian Grill has an exciting growth plan to become a premier national restaurant. With the completion of their 13th store in Coconut Point Lifestyle Center in Estero, Florida, DBC looks forward to aiding in the expansion of this dynamic concept restaurant.
